PMH Plast Puts Climate Footprint on the Agenda

What does a plastics company look like when it takes responsibility for its climate footprint all the way down to the product level? PMH Plast is a strong example of a manufacturer that works systematically and data-driven to document and reduce its climate emissions.

By using Quantified Impacts’ platform, PMH Plast has mapped the climate footprint of its entire production – making it possible to calculate the CO₂e emissions for each individual product they manufacture.

Climate Data Available Directly on the Invoice

PMH Plast’s customers now have the option to get the climate footprint calculated for the products they purchase – and have it shown directly on the invoice.

This makes it much easier to document Scope 3.1 emissions, which cover the indirect emissions associated with purchasing goods and services. At the same time, it gives customers a concrete overview that can help them identify climate hotspots and initiate targeted reduction measures.

Customers who wish to have the climate footprint calculated for their specific products are encouraged to get in touch and start a dialogue with PMH Plast.

Data-Driven Improvements in Production

PMH Plast’s climate efforts are not only about providing documentation to customers but also serve as a central tool for the company’s own development and improvement.

The fact that PMH Plast was able to quickly map the CO₂e footprint of their products is primarily due to a strong data foundation, which from the start provided a solid basis for the initial calculations. From this foundation, it has been simple to build further and continuously increase the precision of the results.

Some of the new initiatives include better measurements of electricity consumption on the production lines, which have made climate calculations more accurate. At the same time, the company has systematically collected supplier-specific climate data and certificates from several raw material suppliers - an effort that is still being expanded to further strengthen the data foundation.

The more detailed and product-specific data, the more credible and valuable the results become. This benefits both customers, who receive high-quality documentation, and PMH Plast itself since it gains a robust decision-making basis to drive internal improvements.

A Partnership with Value

The collaboration between PMH Plast and Quantified Impacts is built on a shared ambition to make climate data practical and usable. Through detailed mapping of both energy consumption and supplier data, PMH Plast has gained a more nuanced picture of the production’s climate footprint and translated it into information that both they and their customers can actively use.

It is not just about meeting requirements, but about creating clarity, transparency, and better decision-making foundations, without making it more complex than necessary.

“We didn’t just want to provide climate figures for the sake of reporting. It has been important to us that the numbers also create real value - both for ourselves and for our customers. With the platform from Quantified Impacts, we can now document and work with climate footprints at a more tangible level,”

says Peter Michael Haugvik, Owner & CEO of PMH Plast.

The collaboration demonstrates how structured data and automated calculations can be integrated into daily work - not as an extra layer, but as a natural part of the systems and decisions that drive the business forward.
